Letters to the Editor

The grift goes on for Donny & Co.

To the Editor:

Of course the grift goes on, as GOP actions are steadily ever more unhinged and more difficult to understand unless Trump Derangement Syndrome has one believing the manbaby Trump is truly heaven-sent.

Believers, you got what you voted for: war, racism, greed, the destruction of democracy and government of the many by the few who are completely lacking in any semblance of morality.

Who could not see this coming, after Trump's incitement to riot after the 2020 election and all his other travesties?

Trump's acting attorney general, Todd Blanche, is the current poster boy for these people, having put $1.8 billion at the disposal of the manbaby. What, you say?

There is no way this ends well. Democracy is bringing a knife to a nuclear conflagration. The Grifter-in-Chief has delightedly, continually shown us how available the levers of power are to those sorts of people who believe so firmly in their own reality and who are so firmly bound to their own pathology.

The founders set up this scenario we find ourselves in today. The "electoral college” farce, the lack of term limits and the ability to negate “we the people” was built into the system devised by them. (over the past 200 years, more than 700 proposals have been introduced in Congress to reform or eliminate the Electoral College.

To where is the United States seemingly supersonically speeding? It sure looks like democracy is rapidly receding in the rearview mirror, and "we the people" are the pavement of the highway. Mid-term elections, when the Trump army deploys, will tell all about U.S. citizens' ability to shape our country. I'm not hopeful, because I'm sick every morning to wake up and read what Republicans are doing to re-make our country to conform to their belief that power is the only power.
