Kayak donated to SCC

Phil and Connie Haire have donated a kayak to Southwestern Community College’s Outdoor Leadership Program.

The Heron 9 model is valued at $500 and will be used to train students through programs held at SCC’s Swain Center in Bryson City. Connie retired in 2011 as SCC’s vice president of the Macon campus and instructional development. Phil is a former state House representative.
