HRMC to host emergency drill
Haywood Regional Medical Center will host a public service training and emergency response simulation with local law enforcement and emergency services personnel from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30.
Participants include the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office, EMS and local fire departments. The training and simulation will be held at the old Urgent Care building, located behind the hospital. The Haywood Regional Emergency Department will be participating in the training and will practice appropriate emergency closures. Please note the ER will remain open to serve the community during these times, and patient care and service will remain top priority.
If you are a patient, visitor or employee, be advised that this training may cause potential noise disturbances and result in more traffic on campus. The purpose of this simulation exercise is to enhance HRMC’s preparedness by testing our own safety and security procedures, and ensure our ability to appropriately respond in an emergency situation. We take this training very seriously, and thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. If you have any questions, call the hospital at 828.456.7311 and ask to speak with security.
