WCU to continue distance learning through summer
Distance learning will continue through the summer at Western Carolina University, and all summer conferences are canceled in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Classes will be held online or through other forms of distance education through the end of the second summer term in August. The policy includes the May mini-semester and both summer school sessions.
“Students who are wondering about the status of summer internships, cooperative education assignments and similar experiential learning activities should consult with their specific program directors for guidance, as there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ answer,” said WCU Chancellor Kelli R. Brown.
Under guidance from the University of North Carolina System, tuition and fees for online summer classes will be charged at the online rate rather than at the residential rate.
WCU will continue to post COVID-19 updates at info.wcu.edu/coronavirus.
