Haywood County Cares — Tammy Maney
Tammy Maney became a public health nurse with the Haywood County Health Department in 2001. During COVID-19 she serves as a nurse, staffing the Haywood County Covid Call Center.
Like Maney, during normal times the staffers at the call center are Haywood County School nurses, however, when a challenge such as COVID-19 arises, they transition to do whatever is needed.
“I have always been a people person and feel so blessed to have the title of Public Health Nurse for Haywood County. [Here at the call center] we have been contacted by concerned citizens who are trying their best to do the right thing. We thank them for their calls. What a comfort this is during such an uncertain time! There have been many positive interactions with members of our community. We are very proud to be Public Health Nurses during this time of service to our community. We all truly love our jobs,” said Maney.
