Haywood County Cares — Adam Perry
Adam Perry has worked for Haywood County Schools since 1996. Currently, he is the Job Coach at Tuscola High School where he works with students who are pursuing the occupational course of study.
This involves taking students out to different employment opportunities in the community and working with them on a variety of job skills. Perry’s goal is that by the time they graduate, they will have a steady job. He also drives a school bus route for Tuscola.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, he has gone from taking students to and from school, to delivering food to the students' homes on a school bus.
“This is a situation I would have never dreamed we would be in. I also have gone from being a job coach to assembling bagged meals and serving food to a car line at Tuscola. Again, this is something I thought I would never have to do. It is very rewarding to have the opportunity to help many families out like this during these uncertain times. I feel very blessed to be in a position to help my community in this way.”
