Casino will open tomorrow
Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos will open to the public for the first time since March 18 at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 28.
The casinos will implement new health and safety protocols previously announced by Caesars Entertainment Corporation. These protocols include temporarily prohibiting smoking in the gaming areas, as well as requiring guests to undergo temperature checks before entering the casino and wear masks while they’re there.
The protocols also include more frequent cleaning and sanitization. Employee health checks are conducted daily, and employees are required to wear masks, provided by the company.
The properties initially opened on May 18 using an invitation-only basis. Now, the general public can enter the facilities in Cherokee and Murphy. The casinos will operate at 30 percent capacity in accordance with state and tribal guidelines, and social distancing measures will be in place. Most casino restaurants will be open with limited seating as well as carryout options. Other amenities will open in phases as determined by the state and the tribe.
