Two COVID-related deaths reported in Jackson
The Jackson County Department of Public Health has confirmed that two recent deaths in Jackson County residents are related to COVID-19.
The first individual was between the ages of 25-49 years of age and had underlying health conditions. The second individual was between the ages of 65-74 years of age and had underlying health conditions. Since both individuals had underlying health conditions, JCDPH investigated these deaths and was able to confirm that COVID-19 was a contributing factor in their deaths. To protect the families’ privacy, no further information about these individuals will be released.
“Two additional deaths in our community are tragic and our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of these individuals.” said Health Director Shelley Carraway. “These heartbreaking events reinforce the message of how important it is for everyone to be diligent in helping stop the spread of COVID-19. Stay home as much as possible. If you must go out, wear a cloth face covering, wait six feet apart, and wash your hands.”
