The Mountain View Garden Club of Waynesville held its monthly meeting at the Jonathan Creek Biodome Art Studio of Nina Howard this month and received a big surprise when world-renowned cellist Michael Fitzpatrick treated the group to a concert.
Howard, whose 50-foot geodesic dome was erected in 1986 as part of an experimental project on sustainability, has six Airbnbs and this month opened The Biodome Experience in the Smokies, located in Waynesville. Fitzpatrick was staying as a guest and performed a fundraising concert for another dome, The Light Center in Black Mountain.
