Get the scoop on septic systems

Learn more about septic systems during an event 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 5, at the Haywood County Agricultural Service Center on Raccoon Road in Waynesville.

When not maintained properly, septic systems can fail. If the system is near water, untreated wastewater can enter the waterway and impact human health and the environment. Staff from Haywood Waterways Association and the Haywood County Environmental Health Department will be on hand to answer questions — how septic systems work, common problems, solutions and financial help for homeowners facing issues.
