Help wildlife on Tax Day
When filing a state tax return this year, North Carolina workers can support research and conservation management projects by donating some or all of their tax refund to the N.C. Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Fund.
The impact of such gifts is amplified via a federal grant that matches every $100 donated with $186 in grants. In the past, funds have supported projects to improve surveilling abilities and detection of hellbenders, increase gopher frog populations and support sea turtle nesting.
To donate, check Line 30 on the state income tax form or, if filing with the aid of software, enter a contribution amount when prompted to the N.C. Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Fund. Donations may also be made directly at ncwildlife.org/donate#diversity_fund.
