Join HWA for a West Fork workshop
Haywood Waterways Association and Haywood Community College invites the public to discover the amazing aquatic life living in the West Fork Pigeon River on July 19.
Participants will rotate through three stations where they will learn about the local fish and benthic communities. Snorkeling gear, underwater viewing boxes and nets will be provided.
The event is part of Haywood Waterways’ “Get to Know Your Watershed” series of outdoor recreation activities. The organization works to maintain and improve Haywood County waterways through education, citizen engagement and partnerships.
The workshop will be held July 19 from noon to 2 p.m. Meet up at Jukebox Junction in Bethel. The event is free for members and a $5 donation for nonmembers.
