Partner content: PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and Sweet Snacks
Question: I have PCOS but really crave sweets like baked goods. What are some things I could eat?
Answer: The issue with many baked goods is that they are low in fiber, are highly processed and high in added sugar and therefore carbohydrates – these means it is best to limit these sorts of products if you have PCOS. If you want a sweet treat that may have less of an effect on your blood sugar, look for sweet treats that are lower in added sugar and higher in fiber.
• Make a yogurt parfait using plain Greek yogurt and top it with a tablespoon of granola, chopped nuts and some fresh fruit.
• Have a slice of whole wheat bread with some natural peanut or almond butter and a small amount of jam or honey.
• Make air popped popcorn and toss with a small amount of melted butter with some cinnamon and a small amount of brown sugar.
• Make up small individual servings of trail mix with a cereal that is low in added sugar, nuts, and raisins and mini chocolate chips.

• Make your own mini muffins and freeze them individually.
• If you really want to a baked dessert, it might be best to buy just one serving of something if this is something that you feel as though you couldn’t limit eating.
