‘Between Gone and Everlasting’
Danita Dodson will read from her latest book, “Between Gone and Everlasting,” at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at City Lights Bookstore in Sylva.
Dodson writes with emotive transparency about loss, the passing of generations and the love of a father whose memory becomes a source of light after his death.
Gracefully illustrating how the griever inhabits the umbral space between lamenting the gone and celebrating the everlasting, Dodson examines a central paradox: the irrevocable absence of the departed illuminates that which remains.
The reading is free and open to the public. To reserve copies of “Between Gone and Everything,” please call the bookstore at 828.586.9499.
