Wild gardener comes to Sylva
Peter Loewer, a.k.a. the “Wild Gardener”, will present a program about native plants at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 30 at the Jackson County Public Library Complex.
Loewer, a well-known writer and botanical artist, teaches art at AB-Tech Community College, the Montreat Road Scholars Program, the North Carolina Arboretum, and the Penland School in Spruce Pine.
Over the past 30 years, he has written and illustrated many books on gardening, wildflowers, and natural history. His pen and ink botanical drawings are included in the permanent collection of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at Carnegie Mellon. wildgardener.com or 828.586.2016.
