HCC students build kilns for new arts building
Haywood Community College’s Professional Crafts Clay students got a firsthand lesson in designing and building kilns at its new creative arts building.
The four kilns will be located on the kiln patio of the new building, which will house both curriculum and continuing education courses.
Kilns are furnaces or ovens used for burning, baking or drying materials. They are often used for firing pottery or baking bricks.
