Partner content: Non-Alcoholic Beverages: Rethinking Your Drink
There seems to be more interest lately in non-alcoholic (NA) beverages. These run the gamut from mixed drinks without alcohol (aka “mocktails”) to beer and wine that can be classified as NA when they have less than 0.5% ABV (alcohol by volume).
Many restaurants now have more NA options available beyond sodas, juices, or water and even offer fun mocktails, kombucha or artisan/locally made sodas and tea drinks.
Reducing alcohol intake and switching to NA drinks and beverages may have a variety of benefits:
• fewer calories (in some cases)
• no interaction with medication
• no negative health effects

If you’re looking to create your own “mocktails” or enjoy NA beverages at home, be sure and check out the many options at your local Ingles Market where you can find NA beer and wine as well as all sorts of beverages that could be enjoyed as drinks by themselves or used as mixers to make your own mocktails.
If you’re looking for beverages that are locally made, be sure and check out Buchi Kombucha, Mountain Hippie Sodas and Infruition Teas.
