HCC Foundation Presents Blue Ridge Orchestra's 'Unwrapping Holiday Favorites'

Haywood Community College Foundation presents an afternoon of music on Sat., Dec. 9, 2023 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. The showcase of holiday favorites will include Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a. The event supports HCC's Haywood Strong Scholarship. Please come and join us as we welcome Blue Ridge Orchestra to our Hemlock Building Auditorium at Haywood Community College. All seating is general admission and doors will open at 2:00pm. Tickets can be purchased online through Eventbrite or in person at the HCC Foundation Office in Balsam Building. The Blue Ridge Orchestra is a nonprofit, volunteer ensemble dedicated to engaging Western North Carolina’s extraordinary music community with opportunities to perform, listen to, and learn about great symphonic music. 

Milton Crotts, conductor - A native of Western North Carolina, Milton Crotts has served as Music Director of the Blue Ridge Orchestra for over a decade. His unique musical vision is informed not only by his classical training as a Doctor of Music Arts in Conducting, but by his roots in the traditional music of the mountains. 

This concert will showcase Holiday favorites including Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a. The BRO will partner with composer, Andre Madatian, as we perform his brilliant, Rigby’s Escape for flute, clarinet, and string orchestra. Also featuring Tori Parrish, harp.
