WNC no longer abnormally dry
The North Carolina Drought Management Advisory Council continues to classify much of Eastern North Carolina as being in a moderate drought, but the entire western part of the state has returned to normal.
In The Smoky Mountain News coverage area, only a small sliver in northern Haywood and Swain counties is considered abnormally dry.
This comes on the heels of several inches of precipitation across the mountains over the last couple of weeks.
