Cataloochee ski area opens for the season

Following a cold snap and a couple of inches of fresh snow, the Cataloochee Ski Area in Haywood County opened up for its 64th season on Nov. 23.

Wednesday is family day at Cataloochee

Families can visit Cataloochee Ski Area for a reduced cost on Wednesdays through the end of the season. 

Explore the world of snowmaking

Go behind the scenes with snowmaking at Cataloochee Ski area with field trips offered Tuesday, Jan. 23, and Tuesday, Feb. 13. 

Ski after school or after work

Cataloochee Ski Area offers discounted rates for youth and adults to explore the slopes and hone their skills with several program offerings this winter. 

Snow falls in the mountains

The first snow of the season has fallen in the Southern Appalachians.
